Just Two Girls...

...Out On The Town. I drove to New Jersey today. I took my fifteen year old to get her braces taken off. We left early, arrived early and I had a smiling partner all the rest of the day. Lunch, shopping, sweets and then....darn it! lost again! I even got a GPS for Christmas. Mr. HiHo named it "Rita" because she rita-da-map. She had us going in circles, however I do believe New Jersey wants you to go in circles. Possibly a plot so you buy more gas. Anyway, I now have a very happy girl, hmmmm, how long will that last at the age of fifteen? Ha! Was able to pick up some great props for the summer themes and was glad to have the day with Aubrey. We were just two girls out and around and around the town.

Not Just a Regular Pink Saturday

This is what started as a regular Pink Saturday post. Photos of bunny golden books that we sell. With Easter only a day away I was going to focus my post on HiHo's baby room. Known as Highchairs and Hiccups, the baby room has a lot of the colors of Easter.Sweet pictures of pink quilted throws, backpacks and boxed toy tea sets.

I would tell you to click the Pink Saturday button in my side bar to visit more pinks and to meet Beverly. Post a few images to represent the Pink baby items in the shop and I would be done... Until... well, you see the story goes something like this...I have a very close friend who came home from out west. A blog friend to many of you.

She is home for Easter visiting her husband , dogs, my family and me too. The glasses are a clue to who this friend is... Humphrey spotted her first! He adores her... She loves this baby doll and had a hand in marking her price up high , so not to sell.( Her plan worked)

Claudia! Yup, pictured here with her two favorite baby's at HiHo.

See... now wasn't that better than a regular Pink Saturday? Claudia and I enjoy our time together, I'm so thankful she has been able to come home. It's only a short visit but at least we will have Easter together. Be sure to visit her at http://mockingbirdhillcottage.blogspot.com/

Happy Pink Saturday!

A Grilling Display

Determined for the warm weather to arrive, I set up this fun patio grill display. The grill is a vintage 1960's piece. I'm sure used with much pride by it's previous owner.

Set on stone mats and surrounded with fun outdoor entertaining garb, the grill is great as a summer fixture in the shop. But you know I won't keep it...it's priced to sell.Perfect for showing of our private label dressings, wooden handle serving utensils along with some gift baskets. I love the Patio Daddy-O book, it's full of great tips, recipes, but best of all vintage photo's of Dads grilling. The picnic basket has a full set of plastic dishes and flatware, and when it comes time for a quick clean up... Dad can use his handy dandy matching ash bucket!

How great would your Dad look flipping buns on this one?

I've Got a Secret, nah, nah, nanahna.....

My poor sign, high winds really did it in this weekend. It's a duct tape nightmare. Not to worry the sale will continue even if the sign doesn't! The wooden leg even split...maybe I'll get some fancy colored duct tape? HaHaHa... Anyway, stop by and visit...you don't want all the tourists to get the deals. I put pink tags on tons of items, I need a lot of things to go so I can start some exciting projects. With the movement this weekend in the shop, it's increasing my excitement about the new colors and themes for each of the rooms. I'm trying to keep the new changes a surprise, but you all know how I can't keep a secret. Trust me, big changes! I'm sure if you stopped by you could squeeze it out of me...or maybe not?

Random Acts Of Pinkness

Hmmm, my scissors have pink handles, my cell phone is pink, I have a couple of pink pocket books, pink lipstick, pink dishes, sunglasses that are pink( if I could find them) and the list goes on...lets see....want to meet lots of bloggers that embrace pink? Visit Beverly, just click on the Pink Saturday pic in the side bar.

The pace of this week was fast and faster.

It went something like this... my parents were here from out of town. They came for a short but nice visit.( they are Florida Birds and we are a rest stop on the way home.) Dinner out, German food and stories of my youth....I loved Pink Floyd. Favorite album, Dark Side of the Moon.

Went to auction one evening after a day at the shop. It was a disappointing assortment of things, oh well...I only got a few things. Nothing pink. Can you imagine if this had been the auction I attended , I would have needed three trucks! I spent my day off with my friend, Isabella. She is a very talented artist that works with beads. Book work, lunch, a shopping trip and we topped the day off with a chocolate milkshake.Had a morning meeting about the cupcake festival. A long day at the shop peppered with visitors... landscaper, committee members, customers and a town board member going over sidewalk plans. The phone rang all day and Humphrey seemed to bark more than usual.(this is not my Humpty, Richard (Mr. HiHo)would never approve of pink on his little guy)However he could stand in for Humphrey as a double...

That evening Richard and I went out for some alone time and a much needed drink.

The next morning...ran in to the neighboring town on a Cupcake Fest. errand and another full day at the shop....preparing for the Spring Cleaning Sale. Oh, I forgot to mention somewhere in is crazy week I have been feeding my family, taking showers and more importantly blogging, HaHa.Did I mention I work with some great people on a board of a business association. Well we are fine tuning this years directory and the emailing goes on....and on, they just keep going and going. I think we finally have finished up that project. Went out on the town again ...ran into some friends (but one friend was nearly seeing pink elephants... if you know what I mean.)

The new selection of Spring quilted throws are in and during the Spring Cleaning Sale they are marked ten dollars off making them only 29.95!

I 'm awaiting the arrival of a friend from the West Coast, this weekend. Wouldn't it be something if she arrived in a pink plane?

I finished my week tagging items throughout the shop for the sale, with homemade pink tickets...I couldn't find any in the right shade of pink in a store. I know you all understand when I say... the right shade of pink matters.

Have a great Pink Saturday!
